About Joe Simile
I'm Joe Simile. I'm a Long Island born and raised artist! I am a sports broadcaster, journalist, and filmmaker. I am currently earning my master's in Television, Radio & Film from the prestigious Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
While at Syracuse, some of my friends and I started a production company: [Insert Name] Productions. With INP, I write, direct, produce, edit, and even act in short films and web series.
I have experience as a sports broadcaster at the Division I and Division II levels, both on television and radio. As a journalist, I was the Editor-in-Chief of Long Island University Brooklyn's student newspaper Seawanhaka, where I oversaw a diverse staff, reviewing each and every article as well as leading the print designs.
Professionally, my passions lie in screenwriting and sports broadcasting. Personally, I am a massive fan of sports, gaming, film, cooking, and indie music.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from Long Island University in 2025, double majoring in Sports Communications and Media Arts. I earned the "Excellence in Sports Award" at LIU's annual academic award ceremony.
At LIU, I founded the Sports Broadcasting Club, getting students hands-on experience in running, producing, and calling live Division I sports. I interned with LIU's athletic department in my senior year, getting experience as a broadcast director and as an on-air broadcaster, covering 18 different sports on NEC Front Row and ESPN+.
